The Moscow Mule
So simple, so tasty, the Moscow Mule is always going to be a crowd pleaser. It's also a great alternative to drinks with sweeter mixers so it's one you can keep coming back to all night.
Ingredients
60ml (2oz) vodka
20ml (3/4oz) lime
120ml (4oz) good quality ginger beer
A lime wheel to garnish
Equipment
A jigger
A copper mug or highball glass
A barspoon
A straw
Method
Add all of your ingredients to your mug or glass, and add as much ice as you can fit.
Give it a stir so the ice settles, add more ice and ginger beer if necessary.
Garnish with your lime wheel, and enjoy!
Suggested Spirits
Smirnoff is the original base of this drink, and being a Russian recipe made in the States it suits the drink’s story! Stolichnaya is great if you want to go authentically Russian, but really any crisp and clean vodka will do.
As with all cocktails with soft drink mixers, it’s really important to use a good quality ginger beer here. We’re using Fever Tree; Fentiman’s is another good option, or there are lots of local artisanal ones available these days.
